Brief DescriptionQualys is seeking a talented Associate Corporate Counsel to join its collaborative legal team. As an Associate Corporate Counsel you will gain experience working with colleagues across our business to find thoughtful legal solutions to challenging business questions. Reporting to the VP of Legal, this position is located at Qualys' corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA.Full Job DescriptionResponsibilities:- Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team.
- Deliver training and guidance to employees on legal issues, best practices, and company policies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to provide strategic and practical legal advice to business stakeholders across the organization.
- Establish processes and select tools to support our scaling organization, including playbooks, resources, FAQ, template development and document management.
- Provide legal guidance on various privacy regulations including the collection, use, and sharing of personal data in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Identify, develop, and execute general process improvements to help drive legal department efficiency.
- Communication and Influence. You have effective communication skills.
- Critical Thinking. You have a record of conducting a careful and thoughtful analysis of complex legal and business agreements and the ability to weigh and articulate the risk and reward of various scenarios in a business-friendly manner.
- Organizational Abilities. You have well-developed organizational and prioritization abilities allowing for the smooth and simultaneous management of multiple projects with complex and demanding deadlines.
- Relationship Management and Customer Centricity. You are a relationship builder. Whether it is building relationships with customers, clients, support team members, suppliers, or partners, you demonstrate an ability to build credibility, advocate, influence and become a trusted adviser to help achieve the goals of the business and our customers.
- Have 1-4 years of relevant legal experience.
- J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Have a flexible mindset.
- Strong business judgment, capable of understanding complex topics and finding streamlined solutions to legal and business problems.
- Self-starter with excellent follow-through and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- We are a small, collegial legal team and need somebody for whom no task is too small.
- Accountable, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and apply good business and legal judgment in assessing compliance issues.
- Aptitude for supporting strong working cross-functional relationships.
- SaaS experience.
- Corporate securities experience.
- Experience in implementing CMS/other legal tech tools.
