What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Afternoon Shift (IG) position at Quanex IG Systems?
Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift Shift to join our team located in Cambridge, OH.
Current schedule/training: 2nd Shift (2pm to 10pm) Monday-Friday or 3rd Shift (10pm to 6am) Monday-Friday.
Mid 2025 New Flexible Schedule: 4 days per week (10 hours Monday-Thursday).
The Maintenance Technician will insure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

What Success Looks Like:
- Evaluate and assist with work instructions for lock out, tag out (LOTO) and preventative maintenance procedures for new and modified equipment.
- Ensure other technical resources are trained on new/modified equipment or procedures.
- Communicate effectively with all team members and outside resources.
- Detail-oriented, professional, self-driven, and flexible to the requirements of each project.
- Work flexible schedule including off shifts and weekends as needed.
- Attend outside training/seminars for continual education.
- Support maintenance activities as needed.
Your Credentials:
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other electrical components.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to improve overall plant automation efforts.
- Read, write, and interpret electrical schematics/diagrams for equipment design, builds, and installation, etc.
- Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals required.
Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $36.00/hr. commensurate with experience $1.00 shift differential
