Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Verifying suppliers’ invoices are accurate and matching them to the correct PO and general ledger account
- Receive and verify expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Identify invoice discrepancies and resolve billing issues. Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Prepare allocations and enters general ledger entries to Storis system as assigned.
- Facilitate and oversee payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement while addressing outstanding credit issues.
- Prepare information for weekly A/P payment proposal and schedule payments after the proposal got approved
- Obtain necessary documents to set up new vender in accounting system and payment template in bank.
- Monitor company bank account activities on daily basis.
- Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Record entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
- Prepare special reports, audit work papers and tax work papers as assigned.
- Calculate and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
- Recommending and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
- Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Business or Accounting degree preferred.
- 1- 2 years accounting related experience preferred.
