PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- As an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Technician, you will provide support to all manufacturing and supporting departments at the site with ESD programs, systems, compliance, and strategy. You will support and implement global and site initiatives, as well as analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate ESD systems and programs.
- You will assist site ESD coordinator, maintain ESD records, materials qualification reports and forms, instruct classes and workshops as needed, perform ESD Audits, and present material for different initiatives. You can expect to process ESD requests, conduct needs analyses and determine alignment with the business needs of the organization. In this role, you will identify deliverables, establish timelines, and conduct evaluation measures to determine effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge in ESD/ANSI S20.20 is preferred
- Support the ESD plant coordinator
- Eliminate open ESD issues in the production
- Train ESD responsibilities for colleagues in production areas and engineering staff
- Implement the ESD measurements according to standards
- Conduct ESD line audits
- Completing new ESD item Qualification/Verification before manufacturing implementation
- Assist ESD coordinator on ESD assessment at EPA on any customer feedback or complaint.
- Improve proactivity and quality of the ESD processes
- Assist ESD coordinator in adhoc/yearly review and update all related ESD documentation.
- Reporting direct to ESD Coordinator for daily line issues.
- Perform job and skills analysis to define role requirements for job profiles
- Ensure that ESD learning and development opportunities are identified and fulfilled
- Set ESD goals that align with global goals
- Manage, measure and monitor ESD quality in the site
- Skill with various Resistance test equipment ie: Multi-meters, Surface Resistance testers, Electrostatic voltmeters etc
- 8D support
- First Article Inspections (FAIs)
- Review and revise work instructions as needed
- Contributes to meeting FPY rates and Quality Goals in each department.
- Supports Process Audit Schedule.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Practiced documentation skills. Relevant experience within an ISO 9000 certified organization (engineering environment) and ANSI/ESD S20.20 is desirable.
- Basic PC proficiency and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-mail
- Technical proficiency with electronics assembly, repair and testing.
- Detail oriented

- Technical/Engineering background preferred.
- Has effective organizational skills. Keeps files and work area organized.
