Position Summary:

Responsible for leading IT department in maintaining, modifying and monitoring IT infrastructure, including computer and network hardware and software, circuits and peripherals.  Performs oversight of systems health using a variety of logs, monitors and analytical tools for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and debugging hardware and software components to establish efficient data flow, security and stability.  Responsible for IT related documentation including policies, plans, diagrams and instructions. Responsible for coordinating with Quanta entities, outside agencies and customers related to IT functions.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Focal point of contact for all IT related personnel, equipment, functions and performance. Integrates and maintains full spectrum of NT Domain(s), Email systems, phone, internet, point-to-point, MPLS and other circuit connections, internal LAN/WAN infrastructure, all firewalls, switches, routers, workstation and server systems, printers, and peripheral equipment including scanners, removable drives, monitors and HID devices.
  • Responsible for system security including mitigation and remediation from threats, including malware and hacking. Establishes and maintains security access controls, updates, countermeasures and monitoring to appropriately protect company data and system integrity from unauthorized sources and methods.
  • Manages IT technicians and system administrators and is responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and upgrade progression of computer network hardware and software to include office and shop floor use. Defines and refines integration of existing computer network system with new product and methodologies.
  • Implements and manages the company contracts related to IT functions, including printer, network, power and system maintenance, software licensing, circuits, off-site storage, internet registered domains names and resolution, testing and monitoring systems, security certificates, security system components.
  • Responsible for building security including security alarm and access control system, CCTV monitoring and security guard system training. Maintains continual monitoring of building access controls, activity and failures.  Remediates where needed.     
  • Monitors the utilization of all networks to detect potential capacity limits, errors or problems and oversees remediation efforts where needed and provides necessary prevention measures.
  • Designs and/or modifies existing network configurations to maximize efficiency and performance. Provides new application ideas to all areas of the company, especially incorporation of new technology to gain better efficiency and improve productivity as well as reduce cost.
  • Evaluate, recommend, procure, replace and integrate hardware, software and telecommunications equipment consistent with the company’s system needs.
  • Lead new project implementations for IT responsible portions, including design and integration of network, server, workstation, printer, scanner and other functional aspects. Makes use of project management tools to monitor progress and ensure meeting completion goals.
  • Ensures company data is backed-up. Backed up sources include file server shares, user home directories, system databases and network device (switch, router, firewall) configurations.  Incorporates off-site storage and duplication practices.
  • Develops, maintains and tests the IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan.
  • Forecasts system and network hardware, software and peripheral needs for planning and budgeting.
  • Assures all capital expenditure equipment and services are budgeted, scheduled on a fiscal basis and requested with proper justification.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all computer, network and phone equipment.
  • Maintains leading-edge knowledge base for IT functions and any hardware and software applications.
  • Maintains software licenses to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Insures adherence to Internet best practice standards to prevent anomalies and violations that would place the company’s external facing domain name in jeopardy, cause adverse reputation or black listing of email or otherwise create denial of service for business data flow.
  • Develops and oversees provision of technical support and system hardware and software and system security training to end users. Training includes system security best practices, problem alerting, notification and escalation, office suit, SAP, Shop Floor application, browser and email software use as well as printing, copying and scanning.
  • Authors and approves company policy documents to cover the full spectrum of IT standards, functions, security and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees and maintains the company external Web and FTP sites including DMZ hosting, server updates and firewalled access.
  • Responsible for researching, negotiating and maintaining the telecommunications system.
  • Responsible for ordering and set up of new phone lines, modems, controllers and terminals needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.
  • Adheres to and supports Quanta’s Corporate Policies and Procedures.
  • Actively works to improve processes in the company and its relationship to the community.
  • IT Infrastructure Management:
    1. Oversee on-premises and cloud-based server environments.
    2. Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of IT systems.
    3. Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance.
  • Cybersecurity Leadership:
    1. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive security strategies and applications
    2. Monitor and respond to security threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    3. Conduct regular security audits and implement best practices to safeguard data.
  • Team Leadership:
    1. Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering skill development.
    2. Collaborate with other departments to align IT services with business needs.
    3. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Hands-On Technical Expertise:
    1. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as needed.
    2. Provide guidance on the implementation of new technologies.
    3. Participate in day-to-day operational tasks to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Project Management:
    1. Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery.
    2. Prepare budgets and manage resources effectively.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    1. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
    2. Prepare reports on IT performance, risks, and opportunities for senior leadership.

 

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • CISCO and/or ISSA certification.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience administering a network in a LAN/WAN environment.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification or 5 to 7 years of experience with Windows server 2003 – 2016 and windows 7, 8.1, 10 in an active directory integrated environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with a mix of strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
  • Proven expertise in managing on-premises and cloud server environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security frameworks and tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Strong experience in project management, preferably with certifications such as PMP or ITIL.
  • Applicable ISSA security credential preferred.
  • Experience managing IT technicians and System Administrators in enterprise LAN/WAN environment.
  • Experience managing industry standard Firewalls, VPN devices, Routers and Switches
  • Experience managing Cisco, Barracuda and Juniper equipment strongly preferred
  • Experience in network security and disaster recovery planning preferred.
  • Experience with managing Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server.
  • Experience with VMware or Hyper-V preferred.
  • Experience with network cabling to include 1G Ethernet/Fiber and 10G copper/fiber.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft and Linux workstations and servers.
  • Experience with installation of SAP and SAGE systems preferred.
  • Experience with access control systems including electronic badge access, portal management arming/disarming and CCTV installation and maintenance preferred.
  • Working knowledge of high-tech manufacturing environments strongly desired.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • This is a FULLY ONSITE position; must be able to report onsite daily; extended hours and weekends if needed.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with multiple languages
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and business continuity.

  • Must have a Valid Passport or other documents allowing international travel or ability to obtain within 90 days.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand/sit for prolonged periods, move about production and warehouse facilities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including internationally – travel required is minimal – less than 5%.
  • Position is in a normal office setting and includes time spent in warehouse/production environment as needed to meet with employees.
