Network Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot our organization’s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in network security, routing and switching, firewalls, cloud networking, and wireless technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of LAN/WAN, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network monitoring tools to ensure optimal network performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
- Manage and optimize network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and redundancy.
- Implement and enforce network policies, access controls, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with systems administrators and cybersecurity teams to maintain a secure and efficient IT infrastructure.
- Manage cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Configure and support network hardware, including routers, switches, load balancers, and wireless access points.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts.
- Perform network capacity planning and recommend infrastructure upgrades.
- Document network configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures for internal knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in network engineering, administration, or support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or similar) and VPN configurations.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP) and SD-WAN technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as What’s Up Gold, PRTG, or Wireshark.
- Proficiency in wireless networking (WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network , or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with VoIP systems and QoS configurations.
- Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for network automation.
- Understanding of Zero Trust security models and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
