What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer - Warehouse position at Quanta Manufacturing Nashville, LLC?
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Assist Operations with troubleshooting day to day issues related to system setup or warehousing operations. Drive and support process improvement initiatives to increase capacity and reduce TAT. Define and implement processes and drive setup activities such as time studies, layouts and WIs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and Update product and process documents such as process flows, assembly SOPs and any other reference documents for CCBU.
- Perform system setup for production or NPI models.
- Assist with the implementation of ECN’s and reworks needed for production.
- Provide Training to Operations regarding new products and processes.
- Take action and ownership in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to reason while handling sensitive information.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop and implement process improvement projects.
- Collect, maintain and analyze data and metrics to improve TAT and FPY.
- Ability to deal with unresolved situations, frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency.
- Monitor daily metrics to ensure defined output and quality goals are reached
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or related engineering field and 2 years of manufacturing, process or industrial engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In depth knowledge Lean manufacturing principles and implementation
- Layout design, including storage areas and work cell/assembly areas
- Process development and design
- Material flow analysis
- Data analysis
- AutoCAD or similar design software
- Experience working with WMS system
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- PC skills including MS Office, MS Excel, Power Point, Visio
- Effective written and verbal communication at all levels including customer
- Must be a team player that can work efficiently under minimal supervision.
