What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recyclable Materials Clerk position at Quanta Manufacturing Nashville, LLC?
Position Summary:
To provide support to the production and warehouse departments in the areas of collecting, loading and scheduling of recyclable materials with third party vendors.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for oversight of the following processes at multiple QMN buildings:
- Cardboard collection and baling
- Pallet collection and recycling
- Scrap metal collection and recycling
- Foam collection and recycling
- Trash compactor disposal
- Ensure recyclable materials are efficiently processed and comply with Quanta environmental regulations.
- Ensure efficient flow of recyclable materials from production lines,
- Maintain accurate records of outgoing materials.
- Consolidate data for daily reporting.
- Coordinate daily pickups and drop off empty material trailers with vendors.
- Tracking and ordering of essential materials i.e. (baling wire).
- Drive improvements to the efficiency flows of recyclable materials.
- Ensure loading of trailers meets safety standards.
- Track completion of forklift pre-trips.
Education and Experience:
- ERP System experience, SAP is a significant advantage.
- 1 (one) to 2 (two) years’ experience in a materials or warehouse department.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- An analytical mindset, logical thought process, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and mathematical abilities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact in a professional manner
- Proficiency in MS Office software – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit at desk and use/view computer for prolonged periods of time, up to 4 hours daily.
- Able to stand up to 8 hours daily.
- Able to work in a warehouse environment with no central heating or air.
