Systems Administrator – Linux & Windows
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Systems Administrator with expertise in both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Ubuntu and Windows servers, managing Office 365, Intune, Azure Cloud, and overseeing system security and infrastructure performance. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to translate system logs into meaningful insights, and experience with PXE, cloud technologies, and scripting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain both Ubuntu Linux and Windows servers.
- Administer and monitor Office 365, Intune, and Azure Cloud environments.
- Configure and manage PXE for network-based software installations.
- Manage system performance, resource allocation, and security protocols.
- Analyze and interpret Linux system logs to derive actionable insights.
- Implement and enforce system and security policies via Intune and Azure Cloud.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across both platforms.
- Administer and maintain accurate system documentation, logs, and reports.
- Oversee system backups and disaster recovery planning for both Linux and Windows environments.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Assist in improving and optimizing IT infrastructure and workflows.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and IT team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator managing both Linux and Windows servers.
- Proficiency in Ubuntu Server administration, including logging and PXE configuration.
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Office 365, Intune, and Azure Cloud.
- Hands-on knowledge of system security, data backup, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with networking technologies (LAN, WAN), databases, and scripting (SQL or other languages).
- Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications such as MCSA: Windows Server, MCSE: Core Infrastructure, or similar are a plus.
