PLANT OPERATOR - Entry Level
Quanta Technologies currently has an opening for an entry level operator at its site in Lacassine, LA. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance and control of equipment and processes associated with Quanta operations. Makes process adjustments to achieve desired quality and output.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in the safety and environmental management programs to ensure meeting all regulatory compliance and pollution prevention.
- Perform in-process sample collection for analytical testing as assigned.
- Perform routine running and preventive maintenance work as assigned.
- Maintain all necessary records, and provide a detailed summary of the shift in logbooks, including but not limited to safety, quality, mechanical problems/repairs, and process changes.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work area, including process testing labs, & elsewhere as assigned.
- Perform all other work as assigned by supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
- AS or BS in a related field with 0-5 years of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to receive written and verbal instructions from supervision.
- Ability to comprehend and comply with Company policy and procedures.
- Ability to obtain, record and analyze process information and take corrective action.
- Ability to interact effectively with other employees, and outside customers and suppliers; communicate on the telephone; communicate in writing (including e-mail)
- Ability to process paperwork in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and other computer software.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and under pressure.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Reports to Shift Leader and works closely with Quanta Houston office, Maintenance and other Operations personnel on HSE, quality and production issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- May work under conditions that require the use of a respirator.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly require standing for extended periods and/or walking throughout the shift.
TRAVEL
Travel is not anticipated for this position.
