JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Kentucky State Police Communications Branch is seeking a motivated and skilled Communications Specialist to support the Kentucky Emergency Warning System (KEWS) and the day-to-day operations of the Communications Branch. The successful candidate will play a critical role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and supporting the communications infrastructure and network systems for the Kentucky State Police.
LOCATION: Henderson, KY (Post #16)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of multi-site networks and desktop endpoint devices.
- Design, plan, and implement technology solutions, including networking equipment, to meet business and security requirements.
- Setup, install, configure, troubleshoot, and test IT hardware devices, software applications, and network systems.
- Provide support for network devices and ensure end-user needs are met.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on endpoint devices, printers, and replace defective parts as necessary.
- Collaborate with customers to identify and implement computing and communication solutions in response to business needs.
- Support other essential communications systems, including RF communication technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in RF communications and an electronics background is essential.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.
- Willingness to travel (government vehicle provided).
- Ability to work on-call and handle overtime, particularly in the first six months.
- Familiarity with microwave systems is preferred.
- A college degree is a plus but not required.

- Open to candidates needing to relocate for the role.
- Training will last one year.
- Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
