Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for keeping communities safe? The Kentucky State Police Communications Branch is seeking a dynamic Communications Specialist to be a key player in maintaining and troubleshooting the communications infrastructure for one of the state's most vital public safety organizations.
In this role, you will provide critical support for the Kentucky Emergency Warning System (KEWS) and daily operations, ensuring that vital communications networks run smoothly and efficiently.
What You'll Do:
- Analyze and troubleshoot multi-site networks and endpoint devices.
- Design, plan, and implement technology solutions, with a focus on network security.
- Configure, test, and support IT hardware, software, and network systems.
- Ensure smooth operation of network devices while addressing end-user needs.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on endpoint devices and printers.
- Work with customers to develop and implement tailored communication solutions.
- Support essential communications systems, including RF technologies.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in RF communications and a background in electronics.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel (government vehicle provided) and work on-call/overtime, especially during the first six months.
- Familiarity with microwave systems (preferred).
- A college degree is a plus, but not required.
