Position Overview :
The Safety Compliance and Auditor will be responsible for the overall safety training procedures and standards to ensure the processes are being met at their location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) :
30-day file review and tracking of errors found;
o Provide information to leadership for follow up
Maintain fire extinguisher records monthly and coordinate yearly checks;
Maintain first aid kit and supplies;
Check emergency exits to ensure that the lights will be operable during power outages;
Maintain eye wash stations and coordinates the yearly cleaning;
Maintain oversight over forklift extinguishers;
Daily checks for scale compliance;
Audits live animal files;
Remove outdated files for shredding (files have 1 year or 5-year expirations);
Oversee paperwork compliance for dangerous goods;
Maintain order and organization of files in file cabinets;
Required Skills and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old;
Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
Holds equipment certifications and operates equipment safely;
Maintain and treat all information as confidential;
Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;
Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English;
Must be able to verbally direct in English;
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances required by Local and Federal Regulatory Authorities.
Work Environment :
Indoor - office environment with potential for remaining seated extended periods of time, using a computer, keyboard, and mouse;
Warehouse - physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment;
Outdoor - prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.
Physical Demands :
Position may require the ability to carry, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds;
