The basis for business development is about creating long-term value, positive image, and strong relationships with customers, users, and stakeholders The Aftermarket Business Development Manager (BDM) maintains and expands relationships with strategically important customers within the Space, Aerospace and Military industries. The BDM will have a solid business and technical acumen that will be required to bring credibility to the position. The manager will be responsible for aftermarket related growth drivers such as pricing targets, while protecting the companies sole source position and expanding aftermarket revenue through Source Approval Request (SAR) or Alternative Offer (AO) opportunities. BDM will also be the Salesforce power user and manage Marketing activities involving the Brand.

  • Execute aftermarket pricing strategy on spares & repairs and flow business ensuring that RFQ responses are compliant with the product line margin targets or deviations are adjudicated per pricing policy
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage new & existing business opportunities, support forecasting & business planning activities
  • Salesforce responsibilities include creating tools to support the business needs and ensuring timely integrity with reported data.
  • Manage proposals and support bid reviews as appropriate
  • Manage BEI social media campaigns
  • Coordinate BEI participation in industry trade shows
  • Create marketing materials that are compliant with branding guidelines & industry regulations and clearly communicate BEI’s marketplace differentiators
  • Create marketing materials in support of BEI recruitment and for communication to staff at all hands, etc.

Requirements :

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

This is an office-based role with expected travel around 25%. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent public speaking skills. Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Good understanding of management practices and techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills. Exhibits the ability to prioritize tasks and complete them in a high-pressure environment. Displays the ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment. Exhibits self-motivation, the ability to multitask and pay close attention to small details. Must have good computer skills and be proficient at managing client databases and computer sales programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) preferred or related field.

Must obtain a Security Clearance.

Ability to lead customer-facing engagements in applicable market areas.

Experience with complex Space, Aerospace, or Military systems and markets.

History of generating revenue directly or through supporting activities.
