This position is accountable for monitoring and supporting a specific or a number of interrelated system applications such as payroll, ERP, and Engineering Design tools. Provides maintenance and programming support on systems as identified by users. Provides user support and training. Analyzes reports and designs computer output per users’ request. Provides assistance to the implementation of new technologies and coordinating field installations and upgrade initiatives. This would include assisting in facilitating field activities such as upgrading systems with the latest versions of software, the rollout of new hardware, and field training.
This position is also responsible for operating the cyber and information security program. Protects computer assets by enforcing system access controls. Works with various product groups to identify new opportunities to more effectively utilize current technology. Identifies patents and product.

Knowledge of: Operational characteristics of information services systems, hardware and software. Principles and practices of computer science and information systems. Computer operating systems and local area network applications. Methods and techniques of training and instruction. Principles and practices of systems analysis. Principles, practices, methods, and techniques used in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of systems, networks, and applications. Characteristics and limitations of computer systems and related equipment. Wireless networking technology including access and security. Methods and techniques of installing and maintaining network devices including switches, routers and hubs. Network email systems. Various commercially packaged software including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and graphics applications. Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Ability to: Analyze, design, program and maintain information systems and peripherals. Install computer equipment, related peripherals, and software. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems. Analyze data and develop logical solutions to complex computer applications problems. Make recommendations in information system selection and software application packages. Instruct and train staff in information system operations. Operate office equipment including computers and supporting word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work independently in the absence of supervision. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

- Defines, communicates, and implements strategy which unifies technologies utilized in BEI-PSSC's products (e.g. system architecture(s), data networks, software programs).
- Evaluates new technology opportunities.
- Improves effectiveness of architectural design and oversees the implications of projects and programs (e.g. compatibility with other products and systems).
- Identify and review licensing agreements for potential conflicts.
- Evaluates and recommends growth-driving technology acquisitions to support BEI-PSSC's investment objectives.
- Serves as an internal consultant on product technologies.
- Maintains basic understanding of current technologies.
- Participates in strategic planning as a member from engineering and technology development effort.
- Acts as a technical consultant on network engineering specialty for anyone who needs the service.
- Serves on various committees within the company professional technical organizations as needed.
- Able to evaluate and install network hardware.
