Assembler, East Providence, RI
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Assembler will be responsible for the assembly or sub-assembly of electronic and electromechanical parts and components.
Expected Hours: Full time Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Must have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the assembly or sub-assembly of electronic and electromechanical parts and components.
Examines drawing and work orders to determine work duties.
Follows techniques used in the process of wiring, installation, soldering or cable harnessing.
Utilizes appropriate machines and tools to install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring and harnesses.
Performs welding operations, and processing parts with weak acidic solutions.
Performs minor repairs to damaged or rejected products.
Examines and tests assembly at various stages of production to identify errors. Discards or corrects assembly when appropriate.
Maintains record of assembly process, progress, and problems.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Criteria For Success
Must possess a collaborative team-oriented mindset and personality with a hands-on can-do attitude.
General knowledge of assembly processes and procedures. General time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations and organization skills.
Ability to keep workspace clean and adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
Ability to use PCs and various software applications. Proficient in use of assembly equipment and tools.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· General office and manufacturing environment.
· Exposure to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.
· May require heavy lifting.
· Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects.
· Repetitive hand movements for tasks like assembly or packaging.
· Ability to lift, push, pull up to 30 pounds
· Prolonged standing on hard surfaces during shift
· Walking to various stations or areas of the production floor.
· Sitting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling motions
· Ability to handle small tools, parts, and machinery with precision.
· Visual acuity for reading measurements, assembly instructions, and monitoring equipment.
· Hearing ability to detect alarms, machinery sounds, or verbal instructions in a noisy environment
