What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist position at Quantigen Biosciences?
Quantigen's Global Public Health Research Department is focused on making diagnostics affordable and accessible to everyone. Our teams are at the forefront of development and deployment of novel diagnostic assays and tools for increased detection of infectious pathogens including tuberculosis, HPV, STIs, soil transmitted helminths, and respiratory viruses. We work cross culturally, and across international borders with our collaborators to design customized laboratory workflows and tailored solutions to meet their testing needs from point-of-care diagnostics to high throughput community screening. We are engaged in all aspects of technology development from early stage evaluations, to clinical trials, and during regulatory validations.
The Scientist/Sr. Scientist in collaboration with the Department Director and Associate Department Director will be responsible for leading coordinated teams of laboratory research technicians to complete hypothesis driven grant objectives and for communicating progress to high-level collaborators, stakeholders, and clients. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot and optimize experimental processes, train laboratory personnel in molecular and cellular biology techniques, independently summarize data using appropriate statistical analyses and figures, and engagement in the scientific advancement of the field.
Primary duties of this position include:
-planning scientific projects
-managing laboratory teams and delegating experiments
-reviewing experimental data
-optimizing laboratory workflows
-writing protocols and standard operating procedures
-writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications
-presenting data and experimental outcomes during virtual and in-person meetings
Travel is required and will not exceed 8 weeks/ year. Successful applicant will need to have or obtain a valid passport for international use.
Scientist applicants should have master's degree with a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience, or Ph.D degree.
Senior Scientist applicants should have a master's degree with a minimum of 5 years laboratory experience, or Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 2 years experience.
