The Operations Supervisor is responsible to the Operations Managers to efficiently control productivity through direct supervision of warehouse and packaging associates in the Distribution Center
Summary of essential job functions
This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager:
- To ensure Total Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure all safety rules and regulations are continually observed and followed.
- Responsible for continued safety inspections and awareness.
- Supervise the receiving, shipping, and miscellaneous work to be performed for assigned customers.
- Schedule the work while in process, taking responsibility for quality and efficiency.
- Train and cross-train all hourly associates in all warehouse and packaging functions of assigned customers.
- Assist with the applicant interviewing process.
- Communicate company policies, procedures, and methods to associates as required.
- Maintain Quantix standards of housekeeping inside and outside of the warehouse.
- Investigate any unsafe or unsanitary conditions and initiate corrective action immediately.
- Maintain security discipline; ensure daily check of the facility when closing.
- Conduct performance reviews for subordinates and conduct communication sessions for hourly associates.
- Responsible for any other duties or tasks as assigned by Management and to take direction from Management at all times.
Responsibilities
- All employees have a Responsible Care responsibility to themselves, their families, fellow workers, community, and employer.
- The line organization is responsible for the RC concerns of its operation.
- This responsibility covers employees, equipment, materials, and methods.
- While it is agreed that all Incidents can be prevented by employees working safely, persons in supervisory position are to ensure employees work safely.
- Supervisors are responsible for carrying out details of the EHS'S(or RCP) process.
- They are required to provide adequate safeguards against known, or potential, environmental, safety and health hazards through communication, furnishing proper equipment, materials and methods, by training employees, and by achieving employee participation in Responsible Care.
- It is expected that front line supervision set a good example of safe work practices.
- While accepting this responsibility in the performance of their duties, they shall be expected to observe EHS'S or RC rules.
- A Safe Workplace is reached only when employees remain keenly alert to their Responsible Care responsibilities.
They shall fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Give full support to the Quantix
- Responsible Care Program.
- Ensure employees receive required EHS'S Training and maintain documentation.
- Follow and ensure implementation of all applicable EHS regulations.
- Ensure that Responsible Care concerns are given primary consideration in all activities.
- Set an excellent example for other personnel through safe work practices.
- Ensure all employees are fully committed to, and actively participate in, the Responsible Care Program.
- Know and comply with Quantix.
- Responsible Care Programs contained in the RC Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Know and understand their own Responsible Care responsibilities and the Responsible Care responsibilities of all personnel on their team.
- Ensure each employee in their department understands their RC responsibilities.
- Empower employees to fulfill their Responsible Care responsibilities and to make necessary safe operational decisions.
- Hold all personnel on their team accountable for the performance of assigned Responsible Care responsibilities.
- Ensure team employees are aware of and comply with all applicable EHS'S (or RCP) elements, laws, regulations, and standards.
- Be prepared to report on all activities relating to safety matters.
- Implement and coordinate all policies and procedures that result from this meeting.
- When necessary, conduct or attend special meetings that promote Responsible Care and its related activities.
- Conduct and as required, document Tail Gate Meetings. Stop, correct, and report unsafe acts and sub-standard conditions.
- Encourage Responsible Care suggestions from personnel within his / her department and pass them along to the QA/RC Team. Directly, implement sound suggestions. Ensure that housekeeping standards are developed and met.
