The Role :
As the Technical Lead for Perception Systems , you will take charge of designing, developing, and assessing the perception system that delivers complete environmental awareness for homes. This role requires expertise in both classical and machine learning techniques to ensure accurate and dependable performance across various conditions. You will collaborate closely with hardware teams to define sensing requirements and optimize components to meet the system goals.
This is a full-time, on-site role in San Francisco with visa sponsorship and relocation available.
What You'll Do :
- Enhance Sensor Fusion : Integrate data from multiple sensors, ensuring robust performance in challenging environments such as occluded and low-light conditions.
- Lead ML Dataset Management : Oversee the collection, labeling, and management of training data while fine-tuning models for 3D detection, tracking, and scene comprehension.
- Conduct Performance Testing & Analysis : Perform evaluations both in simulations and real-world applications to identify and resolve system constraints and edge cases.
- Collaborate on Hardware Requirements : Work alongside hardware engineers to determine and assess the most suitable components for the perception system.
- Develop ML Infrastructure : Build out capabilities for distributed training, data management, and evaluation of production systems.
What We're Looking For :
Ideally, you have 5 years of experience in machine learning for hardware systems, particularly in critical areas like aerospace, robotics, or autonomous vehicles. A solid foundation in ML models for object detection, scene understanding, and system performance assessment is essential. You should also possess strong collaboration skills across various teams, especially in hardware and data. A passion for creating reliable perception systems with minimal error margins is a must.
