Diesel Mechanic / Class 8 Tractors / Trailers
Job Summary
Responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on company equipment consisting of preventative maintenance, minor to major repairs to tractors and trailers.
Job Requirements :
Valid and unrestricted Driver’s license
Must have a Toolbox
Automotive / Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred. ASE certification preferred Diesel
Minimum of 1 year of Technician experience preferred with Class 8 Tractor & Trailer
New and Recent Diesel Mechanics are welcome. Must have graduated from an Accredited Diesel Mechanic program.
Essential Duties
- Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of company equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions
- Performs . inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met
- Performs other tasks / projects as instructed by VP of Fleet Maintenance
- Assists with road service calls during emergency breakdowns.
- Complete required documentation associated with repairing vehicles and documenting parts usage
- Assures compliance with all appropriate safety rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
