Description
Quantix is the leading provider of dry bulk transportation services, warehousing & packaging, distribution, and third-party logistics solutions to numerous multinational companies within the chemical and plastic industries. The Global Logistics division is a third-party logistics company, Quantix 3PL services the chemical and food industries.
Job summary
As the primary liaison between customers / carriers and Quantix, the role of the Logistics Coordinator is to identify customer needs and coordinate internal and external activities to meet those needs in a timely and reliable manner with friendly, helpful, and positive behavior. In performing this function there is also a responsibility to track the progress of each shipment and record non-conformance deviations to continuously identify and correct supply chain performance. It is the responsibility of the Logistics Coordinator to ensure information is maintained regarding origin and delivery point requirements as well as data regarding shipper, carrier and customer performance continuously tracking calls and e-mails. The Logistics Coordinator also has a responsibility for assisting with investigation and resolution of customer complaints and supply chain non-conformances. Additional responsibilities include coordination of activity needed to respond to customer requests and continual follow up with customer contacts as needed.
Summary of essential job functions
- Maintain and manage shipments from order entry to delivery process and all associated steps and tasks involved.
- Manage purchased transportation, including confirmation with carriers, focusing on meeting established service guidelines for each specific customer while taking advantage of the most cost-effective service for the customer and Quantix.
- Track all shipments for supply chain non-conformances.
- Coordinate all change orders, order cancellations, rush orders, returned loads and re-consignment or diversions.
- Coordinate and manage daily shipments with plants and other shipping locations as defined by customer, including daily confirmation of coverage, and updating of shipper system as required.
- Confirm all rate changes with carriers and record necessary information for accounting purposes.
- Work internally with other employees and externally with terminal, carrier or other contacts as needed to respond to the customer phone, e-mail and fax requests, questions, and demands, including, but not limited to ETAs, Proofs of Delivery, and Scale Tickets for non-special service trips.
- Communicate with customer contacts as often as necessary until their request or demand is met or their question is answered.
- Operate within the guidelines and contractual obligations established between the customer and Quantix.
- Correct and maintain any validation reports that report any shipment / load that needs updating.
- Participate in the rotation of after hours on call support system.
