Job Summary: As a concrete pump operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining concrete pumps to transport and distribute concrete to construction sites. You will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of concrete, adhering to safety standards and operational guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Transfer concrete to designated locations on construction sites.
- Set up and prepare concrete pumps for operation, including inspecting equipment, connecting hoses, and positioning the pump.
- Coordinate with construction site personnel to determine the optimal placement of concrete and adjust pump settings accordingly.
- Monitor and control the flow and consistency of concrete during pumping operations to ensure proper distribution and quality.
- Inspect and maintain equipment regularly, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing pumps and related machinery.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and construction site personnel to coordinate pumping activities and address any concerns or issues.
- Keep accurate records of pump operations, maintenance activities, and equipment usage.
- Stay updated on industry developments, equipment advancements, and safety regulations related to concrete pumping.
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions: Concrete pump operators typically work outdoors at construction sites, where they may be exposed to loud noises, dust, and varying weather conditions. The job often involves standing, bending, and lifting heavy equipment.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating concrete pumps
- Knowledge of concrete mixing and pumping techniques, as well as basic understanding of construction principles.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols and procedures.
