Overview: Seminole Masonry, LLC is seeking a skilled Safety Technician to join our team. The Safety Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in workplace safety protocols, with the ability to create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) effectively. This role requires exceptional computer skills and proficiency in documenting safety procedures and incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in investigating incidents and accidents, compiling data, and preparing reports.
- Collaborate with department heads and employees to promote safety awareness and best practices.
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and training materials.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Help develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to safety protocols.
- Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide support in emergency response and crisis management situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety-related role.
- OSHA 10 certification is required; OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or a similar industry.
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, Certified Safety Professional).
