Description:
This position requires a hands-on engineer or scientist to support the manufacturing, design, and testing of specialty equipment used for semiconductor failure analysis and thermal analysis. This is an exciting growth opportunity within a non-corporate small company that has been in business for 28 years. The ideal candidate will be smart and adaptable with the capability to take on projects that span across multiple disciplines, including optics, mechanics, electronics, thermal systems, semiconductors, firmware, software, and manufacturing and inventory management. It is imperative that the candidate be able to demonstrate a high aptitude for organization and hands-on engineering, as well as have a keen understanding of science and engineering principles. Duties:
Aiding in the design and assembly of optical systems.
Aiding in the design and assembly of electrical systems.
Aiding in the design and assembly of mechanical systems.
Able to lift up to 50lb boxes and instruments.
Organizing inventory and purchasing components.
Working within a team.
Operating machinery including a drill press.
Using hand tools.
Presenting data.
Performing data analysis.
Some travel, domestic and international (must be willing travel by aircraft).
Self-starter.
Minimum Requirements:
BS in physics, engineering, or related experience.
Understanding of general physics principles.
Significant hands-on ability.
Ability to work in the US.
Relocation costs will not be provided.
Able to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance of the position.
Experience with the following:
- General optics.
- Mechanical assembly.
- Basic low voltage electronics including op-amp circuits.
Preferred Requirements:
MS in physics, engineering, or 2-5 years of professional experience in a related discipline.
Experience with the following:
- Microscopes.
- Optical design.
- Instrumentation design, assembly, and testing.
- MCU programming.
- Circuit design.
