Overview
The Protestant Music Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the musical vision and assisting the Chaplain staff at Moody AFB. This position involves leading musical programs, educating performers, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and growth. Duties
- Proficiency in piano, keyboard, and/or guitar.
- Familiarity with contemporary Christian music, hymns, and gospel styles.
- Ability to read music and lead vocal harmonies.
- Comprehensive Music Program Management:
- Coordination and planning of weekly rehearsals and worship services.
- Execution of special services, including Christmas and Easter events.
- Development and maintenance of monthly music schedules approved by the Protestant Chaplains.
- Technical Expertise:
- Skilled in the use of audio/visual equipment to enhance worship experiences.
- Adept at managing worship slides and providing lyrics for congregants.
- Administrative Efficiency:
- Timely submission of Chapel Tithes and Offering Fund (CTOF) budget requests.
- Effective communication and collaboration with chapel staff and volunteers.
- Commitment to Excellence:
- Adherence to the Air Force Chaplain Corps’ standards and values.
- Professional conduct in a pluralistic military environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in music direction or a related field.
- Only 2 years of experience required
- Must be familiar with contemporary worship music and gospel
- Must be able to sing lead if necessary and/or play piano, guitar
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring musicians.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical concepts and instructions.
- A deep understanding of various musical styles and genres.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for music education and commitment to fostering talent in others.
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2.5 per week
