What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transporter position at Quantum Pain and Orthopedic?
Quantum Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a Transporter to join our team!
The Patient Transporter is responsible for providing the transportation of patients/clients to and from designated medical facilities and their private residences, in a safe, secure and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Transports patients to appropriate destinations to receive medical care based on the specified routes provided by the patient transportation manager
- Ensures the patient is picked up and arrives via the designated scheduled times, including transport inside the designated facility
- Transports medical equipment, supplies and laboratory specimens to designated treatment, diagnostic and patient care areas
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance and maintains cleanliness of vehicle; reports serious problems as soon as possible
- Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction
- Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
- Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients, their possessions, supplies and laboratory specimens; Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazard
- Drives safely in accordance with traffic laws and posted speed limits while accounting for weather conditions
- Adheres to the company standards of business conduct
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of state traffic laws
- Ability to use approved GPS navigation technology
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively (written and orally) with a wide variety of individuals including hospital staff, nurses, physicians, patients, and their families
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills while working in a fast-paced environment
- Understand and use proper patient-care principles and practices
- Work independently and utilize efficient time management skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver License
- BLS certified or must complete certification within 90-days of hire
