This role involves ensuring high availability, security, and performance of containerized applications, while collaborating with development, DevOps, and security teams to enhance and streamline the platform. Experience with Terraform and cloud-based Kubernetes services is a plus but not required. In this position, you will be responsible for managing containerized applications in both cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring seamless deployment, and applying security best practices in line with DoD requirements.

Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises VMware vSphere environments.
- Assist with Kubernetes strategies and potential cloud-based container orchestration solutions.
- Manage container networking, storage, and security policies to ensure a resilient and compliant infrastructure.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for OpenShift workloads.
- Automate deployments and infrastructure management using tools such as Ansible, Helm, or OpenShift Operators.
- Troubleshoot containerized applications, cluster performance, and networking issues.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines and container workloads.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and best security practices for OpenShift.
- Stay updated on OpenShift, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud advancements to recommend best practices and improvements.
- Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance and able to obtain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for SCI.
- DoD IAT Level II (CompTIA Security CE or equivalent) certification required.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience, of which at least three (3) must be specialized experience including designing, implementing and/or administering medium to large information systems and/or networks.
- 4 years of experience in OpenShift administration or Kubernetes-based container orchestration.
- Experience managing OpenShift in on-premises VMware vSphere environments.
- Strong Linux administration skills, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Proficiency in configuring OpenShift Networking, Storage, and RBAC.
- Familiarity with container security best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
- Understanding of infrastructure automation (Helm, OpenShift Operators).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex networking, security, and performance issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field of study from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and systems management.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools for secure system management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and reporting.
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
