Our client is looking to hire a Project/Roadway Design Engineer for their Dallas area location. This person will work both independently and as part of a larger team in order to work toward common goals in serving clients. This individual will also be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas with experience in roadway engineering as applied to highways and other related highway disciplines.
The Project/Roadway Design Engineer will report to the Business Group Leader. This position may include providing engineering services for the following areas of design:

- Roadway
- Drainage
- Toll Facilities
- Intersection Improvements
- Pedestrian Facilities
- Erosion Control
- Traffic Control
- Signing etc.
- Supervise Junior Engineers, EITs, and CAD technicians
- Develop schematics, plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies and reports
- Provide detailed design calculations in support of signed and sealed plan sheets
- Manage project design schedules, budgets and scope
- Provide preliminary layouts, specifications, bill of quantities and final plan sheets
- Review the work of other engineers
- Train and mentor less experienced engineers
- Supervise and review the work of CAD drafting technicians
- Schedule work for all team members
- Coordinate and work closely with all project disciplines
- Responsible for project quality control. Involved with planning, design and construction phases of projects
- Coordinate with the client and is responsible for meeting client schedules and budgets
- Coordinate with local office and firm management to set, manage, and achieve specific office and firm goals
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 years of experience of designing transportation projects in the Civil Engineering field
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MicroStation and Geopak
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Able to lead and manage junior staff
- Proficiency in Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Proficiency in 3D Corridor Model
- Precertification in TxDOT work categories
