We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our Chicago, Indianapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Naples, Phoenix, St. Louis, Tampa, Tucson, or Washington D.C. office. The Business Development Specialist is an integral team member of the Marketing & Business Development Department, supporting a variety of practice groups, industry teams, client service teams and offices. Responsible for the management and execution of business development initiatives that assist the attorneys with the acquisition, retention and expansion of clients. Responsibilities: Build trust and rapport with attorneys, Marketing & Business Development Team members and other administrative staff to advance the firm's financial growth through the retention and expansion of current clients and acquisition of new clients. Provide direct support in the execution and management of a wide variety of business development initiatives that align with a group/team's business plans. Assist with the execution of marketing and business development strategies, plans and projects. Help identify opportunities for new work, including cross-selling opportunities, with current clients, prospects and referral sources, leveraging technology resources to support these efforts. Identify Return on Investment (ROI) opportunities in all business development and marketing activities. Assist proposal manager, as needed, with Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs). Lead preparation of pitch documents. Serve as liaison with the Marketing & Communications Team in preparing and distributing electronic client communication and attorney marketing mailing lists. Collaborate with graphic designer to develop and maintain all practice-specific marketing collateral and promotional pieces. Work with Events Manager on the development and execution of select business development events. Serve as liaison with the Marketing & Communications Team in content administration for the firm's website, including attorney bios, updating practice descriptions, representative matters, and other relevant information. Work with CRM Specialist to ensure group mailing lists are current in the firm's CRM system. Gather information on recent matters and enter into the firm's experience database. Serve as primary contact with lateral attorneys, collaborating with team members to execute on lateral integration strategies and tactics. Other business development-related initiatives, as needed. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field Minimum of five years of business development and marketing experience in a law firm, association or other professional services organization Strategic vision combined with the ability to execute using a hands-on approach Excellent written and oral communications skills Proven organizational and project management skills Strong client service orientation and the ability to build relationships Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision with individuals in all offices, practice groups and positions in the Firm Must work well under pressure and be an excellent problem-solver and team player Must have the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail Quarles & Brady offers competitive salaries, bonus and great benefits to employees including paid time off, health, vision, dental, 401k, life, disability and much more. Benefit eligibility is dependent on hours. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience, education and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The range for this position for individuals physically located in Chicago, San Diego and Washington D.C. is $68,200 to $96,100 annually.
