Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable High School AI Teacher who will lead our students in exploring the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. The teacher will be responsible for creating engaging and comprehensive curriculum focused on AI technologies, fostering hands-on learning experiences, and providing students with the tools they need to become future leaders in this rapidly evolving field. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a deep understanding of AI concepts, and the ability to teach complex topics in an accessible and inspiring manner. An ideal candidate will mentor students with independent projects having project management experience themselves.
Department Duties and Responsibilities:
Fosters a lifelong interest in and enjoyment of computer science.
Has a firm grasp of knowledge of subject and content-related pedagogy; such knowledge should be apparent to the students and to a classroom observer.
Understands the importance of vertical alignment and collaborative planning.
Creates long, medium, and short-term lesson plans to carry out the curriculum in thoughtful and engaging ways, while following the given curriculum for the courses taught.
Embraces the ethos of assessment for learning.
Assesses students efficiently so that they can receive helpful and timely feedback.
Provides a safe environment in which discussion may be facilitated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Carries out all duties associated with teaching the classes on a teachers given schedule. This may include advisory and other duties as needed.
Maintains respectful and cooperative interactions with students, parents, teachers, co- workers, and administrators.
Creates lesson plans and assessments that ensure congruence between instructional goals and student learning.
Is a positive role model for students, taking into account the teachers influence on each students personal growth, academic ability and passion, and emotional stability.
Efficiently manages the students in the teachers classroom and maintain a high standard for classroom behavior.
Keeps the Director informed of students who are falling behind in classes, as well as students with larger academic, social, or emotional concerns.
Maintains open lines of communications with the parent body and promptly notifies parents when individual student issues arise.
Maintains clear oral and written communication with students regarding expectations, grades, and behavior.
Is timely in communications with parents, students, administrators, and co-workers.
Is punctual and has a consistent and good attendance record.
Consistently meets deadlines; such deadlines include but are not limited to those pertaining to submission of grades, progress reports, and comments.
Offers office hours to students.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Robotics, or a related field.
2-5 years experience teaching high school: creating curriculum, assessments, and learning materials
Strong understanding of AI concepts, including machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and AI ethics.
Familiarity with AI tools and platforms such as Python, TensorFlow, Jupyter Notebooks, and GPT models.
Experience with interactive teaching methods and hands-on projects that engage students in STEM subjects.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts in an accessible and engaging way.
Passionate about education and teaching high school students.
Project Management/Independent research/project experience
