Job Description / Essential Elements:
The Quarry Lane School, a private, Jr. K-12, International Baccalaureate school in Dublin, CA, seeks an experienced Speech & Debate teacher to teach two 3 week summer courses Monday-Friday, starting June 12th through July 25th. We are looking for an instructor to teach t 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. class. This class is equivalent to a year-long/2 semester UC approved “c” course.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create lesson plans for each day
- Supervise and instruct students during class time
- Provide individual support to students needing additional instruction
- Provide grades and written comments at the end of the course for each student
Personal Attributes:
- Belief in setting high expectations for themselves and students
- Excellent communication and human relation skills
- Positive "Can do" attitude
Salary: $7,000 per session AM and/ or PM
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
- M.S. or Ph.D in Speech & Debate preferred.
- Two years of experience teaching Speech & Debate.
- Passionate about education and teaching high school students.
- Enthusiastic person with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
