We have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Life Engagement to lead our Life Engagement Team! They will be both passionate and compassionate about planning, developing, and implementing recreational activities that will engage and meet the needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of the entire activities/life engagement department, covering both Skilled Nursing and Personal Care
- Create and facilitate well balanced activity programing that engages all residents, promoting all areas of wellness including physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well being
- Lead and coach activity team members to ensure activities are being carried out as designed and encouraging resident participation
- Responsible for all team member functions of the department, including work assignments, scheduling, performance appraisals and training
- Prepares and monitors department operating and capital budget
- Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain individualized activity plans for residents
- Completes all appropriate sections of resident care plans and resident MDS assessments, as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field preferred
- Current certification from a Nationally Approved Accreditation Organization for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) or willingness to obtain is required
- Minimum of three years’ experience in activities, therapeutic recreation, or related field
- One to three years’ supervisory experience preferred
- Prior experience in Long-term care required, preferably in Dementia care
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and EMR Software(s)
