Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community is currently seeking customer service focused individuals to join our Supportive Living Dining Services Team as a Prep Cook!
This Modified Full-Time Prep Cook works as an essential member of our Supportive Living Dining Services team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be focused, creative and follow recipes. Hospitality experience and a passion for food, both quality and presentation are also critical to this role. We will give you the tools and training you need to be successful!
Schedule: Modified Full-Time
- 32 hours per week, 8 days per biweekly pay, including every other weekend/holiday
- Weekday hours: 6:30am-2:00pm
- Weekend hours: 10:00am-6:30pm
Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Prepare, season, and cook made-to-order food for our Supportive Living residents.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirements.
- Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc.
- Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to prepare the correct amount of each item daily.
- Present food using proper plating techniques.
- Assist other cooks with prep and special functions.
- Assist in training of new team members.
- Work in a team-oriented environment and under fast-paced conditions.
- Prior culinary experience/training a PLUS
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food service hospitality environment required.
- Ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
- Time management and attention to detail a MUST.
- Serv-Safe Certification a plus, or willingness to get certification.
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment and under fast-paced conditions
