Summary of Position :
The Vice President & Controller, Single-Family Rental Fund Accounting, will lead the financial operations for the Single-Family Rental (SFR) Fund. This key executive will oversee all aspects of the fund's financial reporting, accounting, and internal controls, including consolidation of financial results. The Director will manage the segment reporting for the SFR business unit within the company. In addition, they will be expected to collaborate with the asset management team on the disposition strategy and execution, collaborate closely with the debt team to ensure optimal financing and capital structure, and oversee the coordination and oversight of third-party property management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead the financial reporting for the SFR fund, ensuring accurate, timely, and comprehensive reporting in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and applicable regulations, including REIT compliance.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, investor reports, and other key financial metrics, as well as preparation of annual financial statements.
- Manage the consolidation of the SFR fund's financials, including intercompany transactions and adjustments.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the fund's assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate the preparation of tax filings and work with external tax advisors on tax planning strategies.
- Manage the fund's accounting processes, including capital calls, distributions, cash flow management, and investor reporting.
- Oversee the SFR business unit overhead, ensuring proper budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the leadership team regarding portfolio performance, cash management, and investment strategies.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the fund's financial performance.
- Work with and support the asset management team in evaluating asset performance, executing value-enhancing strategies, and providing financial analysis to inform key decisions regarding acquisitions, dispositions, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with the debt team to optimize financing strategies, including the structuring of debt and managing lender relationships.
- Support the team with financial modeling, stress testing capital structures, and managing debt covenants.
- Collaborate with Asset Management to execute the fund's disposition strategy, ensuring timely and efficient asset sales that align with the overall investment goals.
- Work with the senior leadership team to evaluate potential exit strategies, manage sale processes (currently focused on individual homesite sales through TRS structures), and maximize value for stakeholders.
- Oversee and coordinate the performance of third-party property management firms to ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with third-party property managers to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of property performance, including leasing activity, maintenance, and tenant relations.
- Ensure that property management teams align with the fund's overall strategy and financial objectives.
- Lead the creation and presentation of financial reports for investors, ensuring transparency and clear communication regarding performance, fund activities, and financial position.
- Act as the key point of contact for investor inquiries and financial reporting requests.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accounting standards (including REIT guidelines) tax laws, and IFRS.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage risk and maintain sound governance practices.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
