If so, please consider applying for our Pharmacy Specialist position! Quartz is looking for an organized, adaptable individual to work as a Pharmacy Specialist. This position will be responsible for engaging with external customers and internal Quartz staff on drug-related benefits. Also, this position will Processes drug coverage decisions for utilization management requests while confirming compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Benefits:

- Starting pay range: $20.72-$25.91 /hr. based on skills and experience robust total rewards package.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and support to external customers and internal teams and stakeholders, acting as a go-to-resource for pharmacy related inquiries.
- Participates in the utilization review process, following departmental policies and procedures and state, federal and accreditation requirements.
- Regularly performs audits & oversight of internal, PBM, and other vendor’s activities, including claims processing monitoring, web updates, configuration of criteria and benefits.
- Performs administrative activities to implement Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee decisions, including submission to the PBM and internal benefit teams, criteria for coverage posting and programming, web-posting, etc.
- Reviews and stays up to date with member benefits and benefit plans, as well as content specific to the lines of business they support.
- Oversees and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to optimize Quartz pharmacy’s operational workflows and ensure efficient, cost-effective medication utilization and optimal patient care outcomes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency is required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- 2 years previous experience in a health care setting, managed care, PBM, or pharmacy setting is required.
- Knowledge of contracts, applications, products, and regulations (Medicare, ACA, Commercial).
- Knowledge of benefit systems and claims processing systems.
- Strong interest in clinical and operational pharmacy services excellence.
- Familiar with clinical program components, formulary designs, and prescription drug benefit trends.
- Able to demonstrate skills in prioritization, problem solving & critical thinking, team building, decision making, time management and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of external pharmacy related quality and performance metrics.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) or obtain CPHT within 12 months of hire.
- Pharmacy Technician license in state of residence.
