Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Nursery Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and outdoor work, contributing to the growth and maintenance of a variety of plants in our nursery. This role involves hands-on tasks that require physical stamina, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of plant care and identification.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the irrigation of plants, ensuring they receive adequate water for healthy growth.
- Perform outdoor work including planting, pruning, and maintaining various plant species.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for planting, weeding, and general maintenance tasks.
- Apply basic math skills to measure soil, fertilizers, and other materials as needed.
- Participate in growing operations by monitoring plant health and reporting any issues.
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks related to moving soil bags, pots, and larger plants as necessary.
- Maintain greenhouse environments by regulating temperature, humidity, and light exposure.
- Support landscape projects by preparing plants for installation and assisting with layout designs.
- Identify different plant species accurately to ensure proper care and maintenance practices are followed.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for the upkeep of nursery equipment and tools.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a nursery or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Familiarity with hand tools commonly used in gardening and landscaping tasks.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating necessary materials.
- Knowledge or experience in growing plants is an advantage.
- Capability to engage in heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of daily responsibilities.
- Understanding of greenhouse operations is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong plant identification skills are highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to gardening equipment is a plus.

Pay: $10.00 - $13.60 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
