Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order 2 x per week at a commercial business location at 8 am. This role requires a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and the ability to work independently.
Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Clean and sanitize toilets/urinals, sinks, doors, mirrors, fixtures, push plates, kick plates, handles & partitions in the restrooms. Spot wipe walls as necessary. Stock with soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, toilet seat covers, sanitary napkins and wax bags for receptacles. Empty trash and replace with new liner. Sweep and mop/sanitize restroom floors.
- Maintain cleanliness in facilities by ensuring all areas are free from debris and clutter.
- Sweep and damp mop (wood) wet mop (tile) floor and vacuum carpet Vacuum walk off mats (primary and backup mats, when set out by store)
- Empty waste baskets & trash receptacles throughout the store. (excludes storage, receiving, café prep room). Store to leave wastebaskets outside of cash room and music department)
- Wipe interior/exterior of wastebaskets/receptacles as needed.
- empty outside entrance trash receptacles & wipe top metal surface. All trash is to be placed in the Receiving Room Area for B&N removal. (The café is not included in the janitorial service).
- Clean front door glass (interior & exterior) & front door kick plates
- There is a lobby, 2 bathrooms, 1 breakroom and a small office space to be cleaned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or cleaning roles is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning standards and custodial practices is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for this role.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to cleaning and maintenance tasks.
