RESPONSIBILITIESI. JOB SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepares and performs ultrasound examinations on patients. Collaborates with physicians on examinations.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Essential : walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; reaching above and at shoulder level; repetitive arm / hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object.
- Continuous : sitting, reaching below shoulder level.
- Frequent : standing, stooping / bending, pushing / pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds.
- Occasional : sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.
- Operates ultrasound equipment and computer.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Must be able to adjust schedule for “on-call” coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
- Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two (2) years supervised work / training in diagnostic ultrasound.
- Registered by ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in Abdomen and OB / GYN sonography. If only registered in one (1) certification upon hire, must obtain the other certification within twenty-four (24) months of entrance into the position.
- Current BLS / HCP certification.B. EXPERIENCE :
