What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician - Rehab Pharmacy (Call-in, Day) position at Queen's Health System?
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Fills routine orders for unit doses and pre-packed pharmaceuticals in accordance with State and Federal regulations; provides technical and clerical assistance to the Pharmacist.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Essential : standing, walking, stooping / bending, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; lifting usual weight of 3 pounds; lifting occasional weight of 20 pounds; pushing / pulling usual weight of 50 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive arm / hand motion.
Frequent : gripping of an object.
Operates various office / pharmaceutical equipment such as typewriter, computer, copier, fax, telephones, calculator, cash register, dispensing machines, etc
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
Some exposure to cold temperature from freezer.
Exposure to noise / vibration from office / pharmacy equipment.
Exposure to body fluids, chemicals and contact with patients with communicable diseases.
Works on multiple tasks at the same time.
Work environment is fact paced, crowded and may be stressful.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education / pharmacy work experience, preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE :
One (1) year work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician / clerk.
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
