Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital is searching for a Full-Time Lead Sterile Processing (SPD) Tech. This position will work 40 hours per week.
Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker Ranch Center.

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads daily functions and activities of Sterile Processing to assure efficient workflow and services are provided in a competent and timely manner: functions include but are not limited to: inventory control; case carts/trays/sets; sterilization and instrument processing; documentation and record keeping; automated data/records processing.
- Assigns and coordinates work assignments; monitors staff's progress to ensure assignments are completed as required.
- Performs duties in accordance with regulatory requirements, established department, and Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital policies and procedures.
- Performs duties of a SPD Technician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Registered Central Supply Technician certification highly preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years experience in Sterile Processing.
- Prior experience as a lead SPD Tech or Lead preferred.
- Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge of procedures relating to sterile techniques and processing, infection control, and supply and inventory control.
o Ability to lead work assignments.
o Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
