Job Summary
A Brief Overview
We're looking for a QA Automation Tester to join our team and support the ongoing development of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. In this role, you'll create and maintain testing scripts, implement frameworks to enhance efficiency, and collaborate with various teams to translate product requirements into effective test scenarios. By analyzing test results and integrating automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines, you'll contribute to ensuring the reliability and quality of our IAM systems.
This position develops, maintains and executes application scripts. This position analyzes test results, identifies trends and provides actionable insights to improve product quality. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements. This position also works closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve deficiencies and communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and results. If you're passionate about test automation and thrive in a team environment, this might be the perfect fit for you.
This position may necessitate working early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support occasional changes outside of regular business hours.

Job Description
What you will do
- Develops, maintains and executes application scripts.
- Designs and implements frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements.
- Analyzes results, identifies trends and provides actionable insights to improve product quality.
- Stays updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices.
- Participates in code reviews and provides feedback.
- Works closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve deficiencies.
- Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and results.
- Performs manual testing when automation is not feasible.
- Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Translates product requirements into test scenarios.
- Identifies, records and throughly documents defects.
- Integrates automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent, in computing preferred. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
- More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations considered an asset.
- Experience in automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress or similar frameworks is considered an asset.
- Experience with scripting languages considered an asset (e.g., HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, maxscript, mel, etc.).
- Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Practical and applied knowledge of specialized methods and processes that are typically acquired through a combination of technical or academic qualification and/or work experience.
- Provide consultation and advice on non-straightforward and/or complex issues.
- Interaction with others typically requires interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and influence.
- Adapt messages to meet the needs of the intended audience.
- Build relationships, trust and credibility.
- Manage own work and may train and review the work of casual employees, work study students and/or volunteers, to see commitments through to completion.
