What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Custodial Assistant position at Queens Botanical Garden Society?
Part-Time Maintenance & Custodial Assistant
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain cleanliness of public and staff restrooms, and other building spaces
- Do green cleaning (chemical free and environmentally friendly)
- Vacuuming carpets, sweeping floors, dusting and cleaning offices and shared spaces and stairwells
- Cleaning windows
- Clean out waterways
- Performing other cleaning tasks as needed
- Identify any litter, debris or other items and remove as appropriate
- Identify any safety hazards and remove as able or report to supervisors
- Assist with setup/breakdown of tables and chairs
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Experience with green cleaning practices
- Ability to perform diverse, sometimes repetitive, tasks that can be physically demanding including kneeling, bending, standing, stooping, and reaching
- A Motor Vehicle Driver’s License valid in the state of New York, a plus
- Weekend work required
Salary: $17/hour
