About the Role – Community Organizer (Forest Hills NORC):
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Organizer to join our team at Forest Hills NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community). In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a safe, healthy, and connected community by designing and implementing programs that enhance residents’ well-being. You’ll work closely with local organizations and community leaders to identify and address residents' needs, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive community.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement programs that promote the well-being and engagement of community members.
- Collaborate with local organizations and leaders to assess and address residents' needs.
- Develop strategies to improve residents' quality of life.
- Plan and facilitate community events and activities that foster social interaction and connection.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, outcomes, and progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, community development, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in community organizing or a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities.
- Experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
