Position Overview
QCH is seeking a Summer Youth Employment (SYEP)/Work Learn Grow (WLG) Education Coordinator who is committed to youth development and workforce readiness. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about guiding young adults (ages 14-24) toward career exploration, skill-building, and meaningful employment experiences.
As part of our Youth Workforce Division, you will work closely with employer partners, community stakeholders, and the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to ensure program success. This role reports to the SYEP Program Director and is based at our Youth Workforce location in Forest Hills, NY.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Development & Program Leadership
- Oversee the implementation of engaging, high-quality youth workforce programs that align with QCH’s mission and DYCD contract requirements.
- Foster a positive learning environment that promotes career exploration and social-emotional growth.
Curriculum Design & Training
- Develop educational programming for SYEP participants in collaboration with SYEP Job Developers and Project Developers.
- Create, assess, and refine curriculum to enhance skill-building and workforce readiness.
- Conduct pre-service training and ongoing evaluations to ensure curriculum effectiveness.
Program Improvement & Evaluation
- Develop innovative solutions to enhance participant outcomes and engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments.
Workshops & Staff Development
- Lead professional development workshops for SYEP staff on effective teaching strategies and classroom engagement.
- Supervise Service-Learning Facilitators, ensuring successful execution of project-based learning classrooms.
Compliance & Data Management
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and compliant environment for youth participants.
- Maintain accurate program records, including attendance tracking and timely data reporting.
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain strong communication with participants, staff, employers, and community partners.
- Attend weekly supervision sessions, monthly staff meetings, and quarterly agency-wide meetings.
Qualifications
✅ Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
✅ Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in workforce development, project-based learning, or youth program management.
✅ Skills & Competencies: - Ability to serve as a positive role model for youth.
- Experience with Positive Youth Development (PYD), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Youth Leadership frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software; willingness to learn new tools.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
