What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spanish Interpreter- Criminal Court Bureau position at Queens District Attorney's Office?
The Queens County District Attorney's Office is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Spanish-English Interpreter. The Spanish-English Interpreter will work in the Criminal Court Bureau, providing interpretation, transcription, and translation services for witnesses, victims, and defendants in criminal cases.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
Qualified candidates must have at least a high school diploma or educational equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above.
Candidates must have oral and written fluency in Spanish and English. Candidates must have passed an examination for interpreters administered by the State or have equivalent qualifications.
Candidates with certifications in legal interpreting or who have completed college-level interpreting programs are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must be able to multi-task, communicate effectively, and maintain high accuracy and confidentiality during interpretation.
Applicants must be able to work regularly Monday – Friday, 9 am- 5 pm.

- proofreading translations
- adhering to QDA policies
