The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant position to help support QDA’s Community Engagement Unit, which is part of QDA’s Community Partnerships Division (CPD). The Community Engagement Unit actively works with community members and organizations to better understand crime concerns in neighborhoods throughout Queens County.
The Administrative Assistant will report to the Director of Community Engagement and will be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to :
- Preparing, updating, and maintaining Unit spreadsheets, daily and weekly Unit calendars, and syncing Unit calendars with the Community Partnerships Division calendar
- Supporting the administrative functions of the Unit.
- Documenting and tracking community events, programs, and concerns
- Attend Unit and Division meetings
- Organizing, recording, and compiling reports, meeting minutes and files
- Monitoring and distributing the Unit’s email and regular mail
- Building and maintaining the Unit’s database of contacts
- Collecting, documenting, organizing, and tracking the Unit’s daily activities
- Organizing, tracking, and ordering supplies and equipment
- Attend and assist with events and administrative / clerical duties as needed
- Assist the Director and the Division as needed
- Work weekends and evenings, on occasion, as needed.
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements :
Qualified candidates must have at least a high school diploma (or its educational equivalent). Candidates must have strong computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online meeting platforms. The candidate should also have excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task and a strong attention to detail.
Applicants must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 and may be required to work evenings / and or weekend hours based on CPD needs.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree, prior clerical experience, including experience with data entry into computerized systems and handling documents of sensitive nature (filing, delivering, scanning, etc.),
