The primary purpose of the Seafood / Meat Service clerk is to provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with seafood / meat selections including cutting, cleaning and preparing items to customers' specifications. A Seafood / Meat Clerk provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service, assists customers with questions and special orders, ad needs, while maintaining a positive, customer-focused work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Use selling skills and merchandising programs to enhance customer interaction and achieve maximum sales.
- Provides polite friendly greetings and interacts with all customers as they approach the department.
- Prepares knife-ready products for sale (slice, trim, wrap, weigh and price) according to our standards.
- Assists in product receiving, inventory and storage.
- Stocks and rotates frozen items, prepared meats and fresh meat / seafood in the sales area.
- Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat / seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers and sales floor.
- Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
- Communicate customer's requests / concerns to management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
