What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Ops Consultant position at Queensborough National Bank and Trust?
The Area Operations Consultant provides day-to-day support and coaching to branches around operational policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with bank policy and standards. This will include monthly branch reviews, assessing potential risks and documenting processes. Reviews should result in action plans for improvement executed by branch management. The reviews will cover operational controls around security, information management, cash and negotiables, transaction processing and new account opening. The Area Operations Consultant will collaborate with branch management and Director of Retail Operations in streamlining processes and improving efficiency. The Area Operations Consultant will also partner with compliance, BSA, security, core solutions, and deposit operations to ensure bank-wide consistency and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists with updates to Retail Operations Policies and Procedures
- Provides support and clarity to branch teammates for documented policies and procedures, while providing day to day consulting, coaching and clarity when questions are raised via e-mail, telephone or in-person.
- Completes monthly branch reviews of branch operational controls, including security, information management, cash and negotiables, operational controls, cash audits, and transaction processing.
- Leads Quarterly Universal Banker & Teller Meetings
- Assists branch teammates in meeting operational goals and objectives by identifying opportunities for improvement through on-site visits and proactive discussions.
- Provides support to branches in areas of new account opening, product knowledge, service transactions, and Teller Transactions
- Supports the Director of Retail Operations with trending data based on branch reviews and reports.
- Provides support to branches in areas of internal risk, cash controls, transaction processing and loss prevention.
- Assists in identification and development of branch process efficiencies.
- Maintains and updates branch procedure manuals.
- Provides support to branches for implementation of new and current products and systems.
- Acts as a supportive team player and a champion of the Queensborough brand both internally and externally within the community.
- Assists with ITM and Recycler installations as needed.
- Member of the Bank Robbery Critical Response Team.
- Required travel approximately 75%.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
Required- Knowledge of core banking systems
- Basic understanding of compliance controls, risk management, operating policies and procedures, and fraud prevention
- Knowledge/experience of all branch roles and functions
