What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Transportation Professionals position at Queensbury Union Free School District?
At Queensbury Union Free School District, we are seeking experienced and dedicated individuals to join our transportation team as School Bus Drivers. Our drivers interact daily with children, serving as their trusted transportation to and from school.
The ideal candidate will have a clean driver's license and record, as well as an authoritative yet calming demeanor. Responsibilities of the School Bus Driver position include:
- Transporting children and other passengers to and from school
- Obeying all traffic laws
- Maintaining a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
- Ensuring the safety of all students
- Assisting students with getting on and off the bus as needed
- Disciplining children as needed to maintain a safe environment
- Performing inspections of the bus before and after each route
- Attending safety meetings as required
We offer competitive starting rates for substitute positions at $28.00 per hour and permanent run positions starting at $22.20 per hour plus benefits. Paid training is also provided.
