YOU MUST PASS A DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK (TO INCLUDE A MOTOR VEHICLE CHECK) TO QUALIFY FOR EMPLOYMENT.
No set schedule. Work will be based on needs - Monday to Friday. Approximately 15 hours per week.
JOB TITLE: Transportation Associate (Maryland)
REPORTS TO: Life Stages Director DEPARTMENTAL
ACCOUNTABILITIES Wellness, Life Stages SUMMARY: Responsible for operating the residence van or vehicle. Assists the Residents with entering and leaving the vehicle and with baggage. Transports Residents to and from appointments or other destinations to include weekly outings.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requires excellent driving skills and knowledge of servicing an automobile. The ability to exercise good judgment and make confident ethical decisions is essential. Must be able to effectively manage time in order to complete multiple tasks. The ability to communicate in English, both oral and in written, is required. Requires frequent lifting, bending and stretching.
B. Education High school diploma or GED preferred.
C. Experience A minimum of one year of driving experience is required.
D. Certificates/Licenses A valid Maryland driver's license is required with no more than two moving violations in a three-year period on the driving record as determined by insurance industry standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The employee must be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation by IntegraCare Corporation without posing a direct threat to self or others.
1. Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude and demonstrates impeccable ethics and integrity.
2. Operates a 7- to 15-passenger vehicle.
3. Assists the Residents with entering and leaving the vehicle.
4. Assists with baggage as needed.
5. Enforces safety rules when traveling.
6. Secures all necessary paperwork for appointments and delivers paperwork to appropriate person.
7. Transports Residents to and from individual appointments, group activities and other destinations.
8. Services the vehicle with fuel, oil, necessary fluids and maintains vehicle in a clean, safe and sanitary condition.
9. Prepares trip tickets to show purpose of trip, passengers or cargo carried, starting point and destination, and time elapsed.
10. Performs emergency repairs as needed.
11. Conducts tours in absence of management team members.
12. Attends required in-services and orientation.
13. Responds to Residents' requests.
14. Respects Residents’ rights, privacy and dignity.
